The Juice Cleanse

With the new season comes the good old debate of... juicing or not juicing?  The goal is to heal, to restore the body to its optimal health, and to let the powerful detoxification system we are born with do its work.  Some of us think that juicing regularly is a great way to stay healthy while others believe it is a quick fix that does not bring long lasting health benefits.  What side of the fence are you on?
All we know is that if you can handle the discipline that comes with juice cleansing (meaning you have the mental strength to get through it!) it does give you a great deal of energy, few less pounds and a -unanimously agreed- skin glow.  Here are two of our favorite recipes sourced on this lovely blog.

Beet, Apple and Blackberry Juice
3 small beets
2-3 apples
8 oz. blackberries
1/2 inch fresh ginger

Carrot, Golden Beet and Orange Juice
4 carrots
2 golden beets
3 cara cara navels
1/2 inch of fresh ginger

Happy Juicing everyone!

Plant a Tree in NYC!

It's planting season and New York needs you for this great project:
Have you heard of Million Trees NYC? It's an ambitious program that aims to have New York City's residents plant one million new trees within the five boroughs over the next ten years.
We all wish we lived in a lush tree-lined street right?  Well, it is now possible to help transform the urban scape and green your neighborhood!
Trees can be planted on private properties such as front and backyards, commercial properties and community gardens.
You can get training to learn how to do it or just join a team of well-trained gardeners and be part of this sustainable project.

So if you are an enthusiastic, energetic, and environmentally–minded New Yorker, get dirty this spring and plant a tree for your city!
And get your kids involved. It's such a fun thing to do as a family.

Care, donate, educate, all details are here.

The return of the butterflies

This year, we all agree that New York has really been shy of bringing us warm temperatures and sunny days so it's very comforting to have Spring in our window, making us even more impatient for the real thing to arrive.

We are ready for you Spring weather, don't be so shy!

As always, window designed by Yoshiaki Takao of Bunny Bunny Hole Designs.

Daylight saving and Snowdrop flowers

Hello friends!
We hope you will remember to readjust your clocks one hour ahead for all of you on the East Coast.
Days are going to feel longer longer {and hopefully warmer} very soon and we are delighted.

Below is a beautiful kind of flower named Snowdrop which grows through the last days of snow and bloom before anything else in the early hours of spring.

Kind of amazing.

Enchanted

It's the golden season here on the East Coast.
Pretty, pretty mushrooms, mossy woods and fall foliage.
The outdoors are quite magical at this time of the year.
Mushroom hunting is the perfect weekend project.
Do you go mushroom hunting?

Nature inside the home

Wouldn't be amazing to grow a tree inside your home?
Some lucky people do!
If this isn't really an option, there are varieties of plants like the Norfolk Island Pine, Ficus-es, Lemon trees or Ferns that totally look like trees and fit in small apartments.
We love the look of nature inside homes! ♡
