Plant a Tree in NYC!

It's planting season and New York needs you for this great project:
Have you heard of Million Trees NYC? It's an ambitious program that aims to have New York City's residents plant one million new trees within the five boroughs over the next ten years.
We all wish we lived in a lush tree-lined street right?  Well, it is now possible to help transform the urban scape and green your neighborhood!
Trees can be planted on private properties such as front and backyards, commercial properties and community gardens.
You can get training to learn how to do it or just join a team of well-trained gardeners and be part of this sustainable project.

So if you are an enthusiastic, energetic, and environmentally–minded New Yorker, get dirty this spring and plant a tree for your city!
And get your kids involved. It's such a fun thing to do as a family.

Care, donate, educate, all details are here.

Wrapping for Mom

3 weeks until Mother's day (May 13th) and it's time to start thinking about how special you want to make her feel.
Of course, what's inside is what matters most, but sometimes the time and care put into wrapping your present can be a beautiful expression of your love as well.

We found these creative wrapping ideas for this very special day.
We hope you'll find inspiration in them!

As for what goes inside, we have beautiful jewelry, candles, cards, ceramics, journals and all kinds of mommy-loving presents available at our store, so come on by!

Apothecary

We always loved the look of old pharmacies, the laboratory, the oak wood counters and glass cabinets with all the little hand-labelled bottles of natural remedies... something really lost in today's way of caring.

On the topic, we are delighted this season to carry the beautiful classic American line of products Dr Hunter's original remedies in our store.
Their traditional products are faithful to the old-school way of caring and always affordable.

Did you know there is an actual pharmacy museum down in New Orleans? Would love to visit!!

Support Earthquake Relief in Japan

On March 11 at 2:46pm JST a massive 9.0-magnitude earthquake occurred near the northeastern coast of Japan, creating extremely destructive tsunami waves which hit Japan just minutes after the earthquake, and triggering evacuations and warnings across the Pacific Ocean. The earthquake and tsunami have caused extensive and severe damage in Northeastern Japan, leaving thousands of people confirmed dead, injured or missing, and millions more affected by lack of electricity, water and transportation.

We make effort to support earthquake relief in Japan.
