September rainy days are calling for tea

Last year, a beautiful tea atelier opened its doors on the edge of Greenpoint, Brooklyn.
Shortly after opening Bellocq Tea Atelier quickly became number one on food magazines must-see stores in Brooklyn. You can show up anytime during their open hours for a tasting and mingle with no less than the friendly creators of this beautiful line: Heidi and Michael.
Bellocq also happens to have the prettiest website.

We love their philosophy, aesthetic and passion.

Coats and boots

New York is about to wrap up its fashion week, again closing the book on what we can expect to be the styles of next Spring.
And yet, we are about to unpack coats and rain-boots from the back of the closet and welcome Autumn.

Therefore, we leave you today with a little fashion poem from designer Minä Perhonen.
Enjoy the beginning of the fall!

Nature inside the home

Wouldn't be amazing to grow a tree inside your home?
Some lucky people do!
If this isn't really an option, there are varieties of plants like the Norfolk Island Pine, Ficus-es, Lemon trees or Ferns that totally look like trees and fit in small apartments.
We love the look of nature inside homes! ♡

Movie in the park

We are so privileged.  Each summer the city of New York offers most of their parks to host outdoors concerts, theater, shows and all kind of fun activities.  One of the best one is the HBO Classic film festival in Bryant Park.

Every Monday at dusk, locals and visitors bring their picnic blankets & enthusiasm to enjoy collectively classic american movies on a giant outdoor screen.
It's quite a magical experience to be surrounded by skyscrapers and share an movie night with thousands of other people.

* The wait can be long if you want to secure a spot on the lawn, you should be there at 5pm on the dot when they open it!  it fills up quickly... but it is all worthwhile.

Did we mentioned it's free?

Growing local

There is a trend right now in Brooklyn that is the coolest thing ever and it's rooftop farming! For decades people have been trying to recreate nature within their urban landscape by creating rooftop gardens and it looks like new yorkers are now more and more educated and ready to take it to the next level to actually grow their own veggies and green food.  We all know the benefits of buying and eating local.  Definitely a step in the right direction for urban life.
Not to mention that rooftops gardens and farms are such an eye candy for a city like ours!

If you wish to visit a (rather large) public rooftop farm, here is the list of the 5 top urban farms in NYC.
